My name is Doug Vandegrift (Jr.) named after my father who works in the entertainment industry.  I too have a desire to pursue entertainment.  My ultimate goal is to become a feature film director.  I have loved movies all my life and have always dreamed of being a part of them.  I am an artist and an avid drawer.  I also enjoy many other mediums of art as well.  As a part of those mediums, I have always loved photography and motion picture.  In high school I was Student Body Vice President over the Art Department.  There, I was in charge of all videos for assemblies and made several short movies with friends on the side.  My first job (in entertainment) was working for Steve Biggs at Special Effect Supply Corp.  which is a great source for special effects for Movies, Amusement parks, Haunted Houses (or just for fun) on any level of production. I'm am also a member of the Utah Film Commission.

I love music, I play the piano and the drums.  (I'm starting to learn the guitar).  I love how the combination of Music, Sound and Pictures come together to stimulate the senses.  Like all artists, I love to work on a piece of art for goodness knows how long just so a person can take some time out of their life and enjoy it.  And hopefully make that person feel a little better. 

I have attended Brevard College, BYU, and graduated with an Associates at Salt Lake Community College.  I hope to go to Film School at USC or UCLA but if not then I will attend the University of Utah with a major in business.
